This two-day workshop will introduce how galleries and museums create temporary exhibitions and permanent displays. It will be an opportunity to hear from different staff involved in creating exhibitions and displays at three different organisations. Three case studies will be considered, two exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery, as well as the new permanent galleries at the National Maritime Museum. There will also be a practical exercise, developing content for a possible exhibition based around your own research. This will require some preparation before the event.
Because this event will involve practical work, and working in small groups in galleries, there will only be space for 30 people to attend.
