How are the research topics chosen?

The museums, galleries, libraries, archives and heritage organisations who have been awarded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership studentships from the AHRC run their own competitions to choose the topics of the studentships they want to support, and the HEI supervisors they want to work with. We use similar applications forms and procedures across the CDP consortium.
Applications from HEIs usually have to be made by the end of November for studentships to start the following October. We choose topics on the basis of their academic strength, how they support the partner organisation and the strength of the proposed collaboration between the HEI and partner organisation supervisors.
